In 1577, Alyce witnesses her mother captured and burned at the stake by witch hunters. Her mother leaves her with a message to find a mysterious man, and she finds herself in the middle of a battle between Queen Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots as her powers become increasingly difficult to hide.
